Online retail sales grew in double digits on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday while mobile traffic exceeded that of desktop, according to the latest reports from IBM.
Amazon says it had its biggest sales day in the UK as shoppers rushed to buy bargains on Black Friday, with overall online sales across all retailers topping £1 billion in a single day.
The latest figures from the IMRG show that Black Friday online spend reached £1.1 billion, with £495 million spent on smartphones and tablets.
Arcadia reported total sales of £2.07 billion in the year to August 29, up by 1.7 per cent on the £2.03 billion it reported last time.
Online parcel volume growth was up 15.5 per cent in October – the highest rate recorded for the month of October since the IMRG MetaPack UK Delivery Index launched in 2011.
